Sunday Sermon: The Unbelievers
Ricky Gervais: Unbelievers Interview
10 minutes is not a big ask, but that is all the time it should take you to watch the above excerpt from British comedian Ricky Gervais.
Indeed it is a much smaller ask than going to see the Film Gods Not Dead #2 that I spoke about last Sunday (runtime 121 minutes)
The Unbelievers is a 2013 film primarily following the talks of Richard Dawkins and Lawrence Krauss. Dawkins is by profession a Biologist and Krauss a Physicist.
Some pretty big names in the Secular community
I watched the Film
It is a documentary
It shows the debates of Dawkins and Krauss
Sometimes separately but often together
Nice shorts from the likes of Dan Dennett and Aayan Hirsi Ali
So many soundbites to make an enquiring mind think
I 100% enjoyed the film /The Unbelievers/
I have a feeling it's going to be more meaningful to me than NotDead#2
Just one more thing
The Secret Life of Physicists
It is a small segway but many people often retort that they don't know anything about Science, but that on matters of Religion, Faith and the almighty their mind is settled. If you asked Marcus which I imagine will be a more mind opening experience NotDead#2 or the 82 minute lecture from Laurence Krauss, I'd go for The Secret Life of Physicists every time.
Why? Because it reminds me that Observations, Mathematics, Science, Asking Questions and Reasoning towards an answer trumps blind faith, dogma, and one book, every single time.
a) Watch the first 10 minute clip on YouTube
b) Rent the Movie /The Unbelievers/ from Amazon or similar
c) Watch The secret life of Physicists (82 minutes)
d) Read my post on NotDead#2 to help you decide if you should see that film
