Too Slow for Slow UP

May is traditionally the time for some early Cycling preparation in and around Lausanne.   Agata and Marcus have some Cycle races planned for June so training has already began.

But this weekend we were mostly inside and not even contemplating spectating because as athletes ...

- We are both sick
- Agata is on Antibiotics
- Marcus is just in agony
- The weather has been rain, rain and more rain

Torrential rain since Friday with the slight possibility of a let up this Sunday afternoon.

So despite our frail physical condition as the rain subsided we headed outside on foot to watch the Cycling Professionals in ....

Tour de Romandie

As the graphic says the tour de Romandie is a 700Km course starting on the last days of April and this Sunday time trialing in our home town of Lausanne.

A nice course.   We were in Ouchy in East Lausanne by the lake

Thanks to our friend Carsten for many of the above photos

 Chris Froome

Sweeper van means the competition is over

Now time to look at race commentary and presentations

We like Bicycles

Of course Marcus was interested in any pro Bicycles at the BMC stand and in any other places ..

Slow UP

On one Sunday each year the lake road between Lausanne and Vevey is closed and the public (that's us!) are encouraged to walk, cycle, roller skate etcetera between the two towns.

Sunday May 3rd is that day for Vevery Lavaux Slow UP

We started from Vevey and started walking east towards Lausanne ...

 Stunning views of course

Stunning automotive views of Stratos and more

We were so late on the road that most of the attractions had packed up, indeed the roads were just about to re-open to motorised traffic :(

SO, in the circumstances we think we deserve a small compliment for even getting out of the house, dodging the rain and catching the tail end of these two events.
