In Search of Wadi

The Oman holiday report continues. Today from Monday January 02, 2012.

As dawn breaks you find us making a large European style breakfast in the desert south west of Muscat.

A few sticky (stuck) situations later we are back to the untarmaced sandy road.  Group photo of the survivors above.

Today we split from our hosts, and with our Desert driving credential established (good but still beginners) we decide to spend today in search for the Wadi.

The Wadi is a dried riverbed and is usually drivable.

Cyclists, wow!    Seen again, spooky!

A few wrong turns later we find a Wadi Sign

With a car park full of expensive 4WD's we expect to find some swimming so we take a beach towel

Arrival at Mukal Water Pools

The benefits of cooling down and freshening up in cool clean water are not to be underestimated.

We find a private place to camp 9Km away from the 1000 Nights Camp

Don't come between a man and his shovel in the desert

The bedroom is constructed

An unfeasibly large amount of food and drink for just 1 night!

Time to contemplate life before sundown
