I am not going to say that either Marcus or Agata are paranoid but there are an increasing number of occasions when we we wonder where each other are.Luckily technology has come to the rescue and now equipped with Google latitude on our iPhones we can easily track each other in real time.
We might be running back from our prospective work places destination centre of Lausanne. As we run we can track each other and even plan a route to each other and follow it on screen as we run.
How does it work?
- We both have iPhone4's. These devices have both a GPS for location and an electric compass for direction
- We download the Google Latitude application
- We sign on to Latitude
- In options we select Background Updating = ON
- Leaving the GPS on means increased battery consumption so at work I leave the iPhone4 teatherd to a laptop to keep it 100% charged
And so there we have a cool technological way to track each other, or in fact any of our GMail friends. Marvellous.
